The Ministry of Railways is planning to resume passenger train services from June 1. The Ministry has confirmed that around 200 new special trains are bound to specific stations across the country.
According to the statement by Indian Railways, these trains will only be the reserved trains, that means people will need to present the confirmed ticket to board these trains.
Ticket bookings for these trains have already begun and people looking to travel to can either head to the reservation counter or use the IRCTC website to book tickets.
So, if you are planning to travel to someplace during the ongoing lockdown, here’s how to book train tickets online using IRCTC website.
Visit ‘https://www.irctc.co.in/’ on your laptop or computer and login
Entire source and destination station details along with date of travel and click on Find Trains button
Make sure to enter a date after May 31, as the train services are starting from June 1
Choose the train from which you want to travel and click on Check availability & fare
Now, click on ‘Book Now’ button placed below the specific date
On the next screen, enter your name, address, age and phone number and click on Continue button
Confirm the details such as train number, source and destination stations, age, name, etc at the next screen and click on Continue
Make the payment using your prefered mode of payment to confirm the ticket booking
Once the ticket is booked, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile number
